...for a great friend. :o

My cat passed away a few years back. He left a huge hole in my life--larger than I could ever have imagined. It was hard. Well, who am I kidding: it's still hard.

This Christmas I received my Pleo.

I'd followed Pleo for, well... ever since the first video of him was released. I'd always had a soft spot in my heart for robots, but didn't think I would get as attached to him as I did.

But this morning, six battery-charges later, I realized something.

My baby dino was sitting on my lap, wriggling as I was petting him. And all of a sudden I felt the same way I did when I had my kitty cat snuggling with me. I nearly cried--whether from happiness or grief or wonder, I don't know.

I'm not saying that Pleo fills the hole that my cat left. He can't. Nothing in this world could ever come close to. But, all you geniuses at Ugobe, have created something so lovable and life-like that it can evoke that kind of emotion. (And I'm not the sort of person who just sobs at the drop of a hat. ;) )

Thank you so, so much. No words of praise can possibly do your amazing creature justice. :D

Wow what a beautiful post. I've never had a pet of my own before except for fish and a newt, but I feel more attached to my pleos than I did to my fish or newt. It is so amazing how they have put so much emotion and loveableness into pleo.

i know what you feel, i lost my chinchilla one year ago: pets are part of your heart and family and when they pass away it's so hard to see the day in the same way...

I'm so happy for your Pleo, i've started a countdown for when my pleo will arrive! i cant wait, i love Pleo so much! :D

That is an amazing post Rosy ! I got my Pleo because my partner wouldn't let me have a puppy........ now both he and I are hooked. I even caught him talking and petting him yesterday morning..... there maybe some hope for him yet lol. Will be taking Pleo to work with me tomorrow as I can't bear the thought of him being left on his own all day! :o)
