Hey everyone,

Using frames from the awesome Pleo World welcome video, I made a web page friendly GIF animation of Pleo walking away, for those of you that can't embed movies on your web pages:

http://gossamer.open-site.org/robodance/pleo-simple-sml-3.gif

Here's the link:

http://gossamer.open-site.org/robodance/pleo-simple-sml-3.gif

Feel free to use it. If you feel like linking to my blog that would be great and here's the link stuff:

The <a href="http://www.robotsrule.com/pleo/blogger.html">Pleo Dinosaur</a> blog

.. but you don't have to.

For Amjoie and others who need the HTML in easy cut and paste form:

<img ALT="pleo walking away" SRC="http://gossamer.open-site.org/robodance/pleo-simple-sml-3.gif" HSPACE=5 VSPACE=5 />

Same as above but with blog link:

<a href="http://www.robotsrule.com/pleo/blogger.html"><img ALT="pleo walking away" SRC="http://gossamer.open-site.org/robodance/pleo-simple-sml-3.gif" HSPACE=5 VSPACE=5 /></a>

Enjoy! :)

For those of us who are html illiterate, could you put the whole html code, for adding this animation to a site?

About an hour or two. Most of which was figuring out which frames and how many to use so the file wasn't humoungous and getting it to look smooth.

Hey roschler, since you have obviously played with flash videos, do you know of a good, inexpensive (or better yet, free) application to convert an FLV file into something else, like an mpeg-1, -2, or -4, WMV, or AVI video file?

mweed,

I never had much luck with the free converters. More often than not the the converters I do have like Canopus Pro couldn't digest them.

Doing the voices didn't take long, but the video did! You'd be surprised how long it takes to do even a 4 minute video like that. It's not like vlogging where you just turn on your video camera and talk for 5 to 10 minutes. I lost count of the number of hours, but it was quite a few. Enough hours that I have to think long and hard before I do another. :)
