What We Love About the New Pleo

There are so many threads now that focus on what folks want changed about Pleo - now or in the future. Or things they want to add to the whole Pleo Package. So - let's balance things out.:o
I'm sure that Ugobe is doing everything they can to give us the very best Pleo - the first Lifeform of it's kind. Let's use this thread to celebrate what we're excited about . . . and don't want or need to change. I'll go first!

I love the fact that two Pleos can get to know each other, and be companions for each other. That makes it possible to have a Pleo "family."

I love all the touch sensors and the care they took to make Pleo's skin pleasant to stroke.

I love what I have heard so far about Pleo's AI, and how it will continue to change over time. That means my Pleos can grow and mature into unique personalities.

I love that I can back up Pleo's personality, insuring I will always have my little buddy around (even if a catastrophe happens, and I need to redownload his personality back into him).

I love that I can replace a worn out battery.

I love that I can't see Pleo's robot innards; but I also love knowing that he is a robot, and I want to understand everything I can about what is under his skin. Pleo is, in this sense, the best of both worlds.

I love that Pleo is designed to be a social animal.

I love Pleo's teeth. He has the cutest mouth!

I love that Pleo has a "built-in sense of humor," apparent in both how he moves and how he looks.

I love that Pleo wants to eat, and can sense when a leaf is in his mouth.

I love that Pleo was designed to advance in capability, through new programming applications, even with existing hardware.

I love that Pleo is being marketed to both children and adults. It means Pleo is for all of us, just like a real pet would be.

I love that Ugobe has been sharing the whole Pleo experience with us, from very early in their creation of him. I feel invested in Pleo's past and future. This has generated a lot of the excitement about Pleo, and given us all a sense of community even before we get our Pleos.

I could go on and on, but mostly, I just love Pleo .... And I can't wait to welcome my pair of Pleos into my home!

I love that pleo is a dinosaur. Did you ever imagine that you could have a long gone species for a pet. I feel like the flinstones.

I like reading what people have planned for their pleos. I wonder how Pleo will feel about being spoiled?

I like that pleo can be turn off in those times when things are busy in our lifes. A real pet demands constant attention.

I like that I can share him with family and friends.

I like that he can go to places where real pets aren't allowed (Hospitals, nursing homes, etc.)

I like that pleo will creat a cummunity of people with same interest. Could you imagine all the rulers of the world having a Pleo. Someone else had said that Pleo could bring world peace.

I like that Pleo was a thought at one time. Now it is come to life. Dreams comes true.

I love also love that pleo is a dinosaur, ugobe, if they wanted could bring all the dinosaurs back to life, life as in pleos life. i love all pleos sencors, I love pleos AI and how he grows with you emotionly, I love that he can be taught, and understand tones of voice, "maybe soon, voice recongnition:) " I love that pleo can be loved probally more than any robot has ever been loved, I love pleos skin now, and before, let me just say this........ I love that my Pleo will be different than everyone else's Pleo. In fact, I'll have two PLEOs and they won't be the same!

I love that I'll have a special certificate with my First Hatch Pleo.

It's so awesome that I'll be able to look forward to new things for Pleo in the future.

I love that even though we'll be happy with Pleo, Ugobe is looking to the post-Pleo future.

I love that PleoWorld has this Forum for us to post on while waiting for our Pleos to arrive.

Actually - I set up a thread already for things to "Celebrate" about Pleo.
I'm not technically savvy enough to do it - but perhaps someone who is could combine the two threads so we have only the one. "What We Love . . . " is a great title. Maybe just move the posts?

Hi Gobi, I have combined the two threads. Since you started the original thread but preferred the "What We Love..." title, I went with that name.

I can't wait to see all the posts about what everyone likes best about Pleo. :D

I love Pleo's "support staff!"

1. that pleo is affordable

2. that pleo is a robot that learns and evolves instead of being a robot with pre-made responses. ( push 1 pleo growls push 2 pleo sleeps)

3. that pleo doesn't look or sound like a robot

4. that we'll be able to write programs for pleo.
