What are pleo's circumference measurements at the base of the neck?

OK I want to make a collar for my pleo-to-arrive, can anyone who already has a pleo measure around the circumference of his neck at the base so I will know what size collar to make? Would a charm bracelet fit OK do you think?

Brian,

A charm braclet would fit fine and allow it to hang loose. Because Pleo's skin is subject to wear, you may want to investigate materials that don't contribute too much to this wear. Also Pleo likes to hold his head up or lower it down to the ground. It would be helpful if the collar allowed for free movement but didn't get in he way of his feet, sensors on his head, or his mouth.

Pleos's Approximate Dimentsions are: 20.7” long, 6” wide and 7.5” tall. The neck is approximately 5 inches around. He weighs 3.5 lbs. His size when he is sleeping or walking will vary depending on his exact positioning and individual movements. With his head and tail fully ‘up’ he is somewhere between 10.5 – 11 inches high, but we can’t give a 100% ‘official’ measurement as it depends on how Pleo feels like standing! <!-- / message --><!-- edit note -->

He will definitely fit in a standard backpack. Siren puts her two to sleep and puts both of them in her backpack for their outings.

I think everyone is surprised at how heavy these little guys are when we get them. Peeky plus the battery is a nice weight. May be a little heavy to carry in a plastic shopping bag. You are going to want to protect him.:)

Yeah, I put mine in a backpack. I put them into sleep position first (keep your hand on their back by the base of their tail). Once they are both in that position, I can get them to fit pretty comfortably, because their neck and tail curl up, protecting both parts.

Wow. I'll be able to fit it in with it NOT in sleep mode! I was asking because, first of all, I need a tote bag for it. Second of all, I shall ahve to go to New Jersey to get it, which is a very long way away. I do not need any more stuff in teh car than I already have.

I agree with Degers I'd keep the box if at anyway possible.
