We will have many new members in the coming months, and it might be nice to get some introductions going. Not everyone buying a Pleo will recognize the names of some of you who have become "household names" in the robot community. So even if you think everyone knows who you are, please write an intro. :)

Feel free to tell us all something about yourself, and take your place in the Pleo community!

But remember this, as pointed out by PleoWorldHost:

Hi everyone it is great to see you all getting to know one another! For the people who are totally new to forums please remember to stay safe and don't give out your full name, address, telephone numbers or any information that could lead someone to you. We want the parents of Pleo to be around when he arrives!

...........................
Hardly anyone in the robot community would know me. I've been more a lurker than a participator, up until now. But I'm so exited about Pleo that I can't keep quiet!

I live in the USA upper midwest, usually hunkered down while it snows outside, a good deal of the year. If igloos could exist in the USA outside of Alaska, it would be here. LOL

I'm married, my kids have long since made their own families, and I'm a grandma. I have had my share of jobs/volunteer work/self-employment, but that is all behind me, now. I'm definitely part of the 25+ demographic. Make that ++++. OK, I'm older than sin. (giggle)

It is unlikely that I will be able to travel to Pleo get-togethers because of ill health. But I would love nothing more than being able to gather everyone with a Pleo together, young and old, and have a huge party! I hope someone instigates such gatherings, and takes lots of pictures/videos so I can share in the joy.

I'm excited to be on the "ground floor" of the Pleo adventure, and looking forward to getting to "know" all of you, as we share our love of Pleo, and all the Ugobe robots to come!

Hey amjoie,

Good idea and thanks for getting the ball rolling.

I'll continue the introductions. I'm like you amjoie, usually a lurker. I live on the East coast. I still work but am getting very close to that older than sin category.:)
I can't wait for my pleo to arrive. I already have the name picked out "Sephy". I'm hoping he/she will make friends with my cat.

I think it would be a great idea to have a Pleo get together. Then everyone could share their training process and show off how well behaved their Pleo is.

I'm imagining a party where people are dressed in suits and dresses in a big fancy mansion with a pianist and servants going around handing out food. lol. Any each of these well-dressed characters (from around the globe) are either holding a Pleo or have one on the ground next to them.

As for my introduction...

I'm am Pleofan89, and I wish to become a well-known member in this forum. I will rely on this forum for any advice on Pleo people come up with when we all have one. I hope to learn as much as any Pleo user on this forum about the little Dinosaur. Out of the few forums I registered for on the web, I see this as the most important one. Pleo is not only a new robot pet that I will have, he will also be my new hobby. Everything from caring for him to using softwares to make him unbelievably amazing will be my goal with this forum.

Again I wish to be friends with the members in this forum. I know as time goes by, this forum will grow as Pleo becomes increasingly popular. I think in a few months after Pleo is released, we few will be considered the "pioneers" of this forum. The great Amjoie, the great starfire, the great pleoworldhost. lol.

ROTFLOL!

OK, Pleofan89 the Great, that little quote above was enough to make me almost choke on my morning coffee. LOL

I really hate to break it to you, but when you are a "foundation" of anything, people build on top of you and forget you are there. Anyone who comes after that only sees the structure on top, and praises it. The forgotten foundations do the heavy lifting and someone else gets the praise.

And so ended the very short reign of Pleofan89 the Great, a hiccup in history ... LOL ;)

Hi,

This is honestly the first robotic toy i've been interested in. I didn't even much care for Furby. I live and work on the east coast. I am in my mid 20's and I foster German Shepherds (so poor pleo will just have to have his own room)

I plan on naming mine Kodiak (Kodi for short).

Hi everyone!

I'm Simone aka junkroxy, i'm 29 and i love electronic robotic toys since i was in some furby board for 2-3 years! I bought an i-cybie many months ago but i was a little bit dissapointed for the old mechanics in that dog, but it was cute at first! I cant wait to see Pleo in Italy and i hope to see the little dino in stores before xmas (but i'm little worried about the price, in italy the technology is overpriced, and it's not fair. I've seen the price of Pleo on Amazon.de and the price is 400 euros (400 Euros = $530). I think that price will be the same here... I'll work so hard to get one!

I hope we share great stories and more with you!:D

Well, I fit into that 25++ demographic, and I come from a programming background. I work as an information architect and spend all day on the computer and internet, but I have no internet access from home. I don't blog and avoid social sites like MySpace, and so far, this is the only forum I felt was worth participating in.

i'm 30, married and have two young daughters, but that doesn't stop me from having my robotic interests. i live in northwest pennsylvania, about 30 miles from lake erie.

i try to keep up on new robots and i like to collect the more sophisticated, technologicly advanced ones.

i've wrote a couple simple c++ programs but i really want to start programming robots. i think i need a good robotic platform to code on with a good sdk. i hope pleo can jump start my programming skills.

Greetings all.

I'm Frank, an IT Security Program Manager from Northern Virginia. Like most of you I have waited in anticipation for the arrival of the cute "littl' feller" (or gal) for some time now. I pre-ordered one Pleo and hope to incorporate him into my two cat's play. Because we are on the front edge of the "Pleo Revolution" I hope to join in the conversation and share my observations and learn from others.

Best wishes to all Pleo Guardians.

I live in the U.S., in L.A.. Don't have any kids of my own. I just buy things for myself. Happy for that. Currently don't have a job but I am looking. And I'm into movies. Gonna see "Harry Potter" next week. And upcoming robots (robots are things with brains), of course. I can't wait for my precious Pleo! I'll love it. I'm not gonna "modify" my adorable Pleo's internal things at all. I am no stupid, mere nerd. I'd love for my precious Pleo to 1 day, robots in general even, to be able to have face recognition. I am so gonna be a robot collector. And I'd love to actually own, like, robotic and/or virtual whales and dolphins. lol

HI I am Kathlyn...I just was up doing treatments and thought I would come in and say HI. My mom showed me this wonderful friend and I just knew I would have to save and get one.
I hope that with it I can do some special things. I have so many ideas for her..more than just a toy for me but something to help others believe! You all will have yours way before me but i look forward to seeing you all grow as your baby grows with you. Take care!

Oh ya and I am going to choose Rose for a name of mine (when i get one) to support CF(cystic fibrosis) like me when you had a hard time saying it we would say "65 roses" so there is where Rose came from! I can see her now with her mane tag and a collar with roses on it.

This isn't so much of an introduction as a clarification. So, whether you want to think of it as a case of schitzophrenia or Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, I have joined the ranks of Theodore Giesel and Samuel Clemens. I'm publishing under a pseudonym. So, to properly introduce myself, to those who already know me, this is mweed, the pleoWhisperer.

I will still be posting as mweed, but if you see the occasional post by pleoWhisperer, it's just my alter-ego. Oh my mweed/PleoWhisperer you made me spit coffee laughing so hard. By the way please don't tell the human types that we GuineaPleos drink their coffee, it's so much fun watching them blame each other. Now if I could just figure out how to wipe the coffee off the monitor.

P.S. Tell your husband "goo Luck" in the comic industry. I used to write storylines & dialog for some indies back in the early '90s before the comic industry collapsed. Now days I just stick to reading comic strips! Never could draw worth a darn. The illustrators I worked with used the term "scary stick figures" to describe my artwork.

Hello Pleo Fans!

I'm a newbie here, but I have been reading these forum postings for a while and am fascinated by Pleo. I live alone and long to have a pet but my landlord does not allow it, so Pleo would be the next best thing. He is one cute little dinosaur!

Not sure if I'm the only one here who hasn't actually pre-ordered Pleo yet, but I have to admit that the short battery life has given me some reservations. Hope there is at least the possibility that Ugobe will come up with a battery that charges faster without forcing us to order an upgraded Pleo. (I know that this was the case with the newer Roomba models.)

Okay, so c'mon and convince me to get Pleo, guys! :D (Actually I don't think I need much convincing. The more I see, the more I want this little, green cutie!)

about the name?? I'm originally from Alaska, and I make pretty things :o, so I wanted to name my private design after the imagery of an ever-blooming flower breaking through the snow.

"I have lots of friends that work on comics. I got to know most of them through a good friend in dallas. What does your husband work on?"
have you been to any conventions? they sound scary but they are really fun and have a lot of funstuff (like giant yoshi plushes I can't afford because I just bought my husband a light saber for his birthday :) hehehe that was hard to sneak home)
What kind of projects are your friends on? Mweed - work on any stories you miss writing for?
My husband is penciling a new indie called Pogrom. There is a preview issue from another artist, and the first issue (also from the other issue) that will be out in a few months when they are ready to start producing monthly.

Is everyone else getting so overly anxious for pleo that they are getting ready to start buying his/her toys before they even ship? It's all I can do to not go get a doggy purse :) hehehehe

okay, bedtime.

Hello all,

No, I don't make marzipan, I just love to eat it! I was born in Sweden and got hooked on the sweet stuff early, although I have to limit myself for obvious reasons. Marzipan is actually a wonderful sculpting medium and I can just see making lots of cute little marzipan Pleos. The cosmic dilemma would be whether to eat them or not.

It's interesting that you should mention the marzipan babies, arcticlotus, as I happen to be a dollmaker. Camille's dolls are lovely and they sell for a lot of money as I recall. I don't make babies; mostly costume and portrait dolls. These days I am working in doll house scale; i.e. 5-6" dolls. I just tried to download a picture of one of them but the file is too large. (Still haven't figured out how to shrink them down. Maybe someone here can help me?)

Thanks for the interest!

Do this with a copy of your art or photo, not the original:

In your art program, make sure the image is saved as a JPG or JPEG -- *NOT* a BMP or PNG or TIFF.

If that doesn't shrink an image enough, then change the image size: Make it between 600 and 864 pixels wide, with the DPI set to 72 (it often starts out at 144 or even 300). That will usually make the image small enough.

I have to say I am truly amazed at the creativity and talent being represented in the PleoWorld Community. Beading, cartoons, dolls, the ideas for accessories and living quarters for Pleo, etc. It makes me wish I really were a Pleo and waiting to be delivered to one of your houses. LOL

I guess I'll have to settle for seeing all the pictures and videos you'll all be sharing once you have your Pleo's.

I really haven't done anything in the comic book industry in over ten years, but at the time, I worked with a small group that was trying to create an internet "home" for indies called the "INDex" which never really got off the ground. Most of the guys had to have "real" jobs to pay the bills and do comics in their spare time. But I worked with a number of artists and writers in the Dallas area. The few that I think are still in the business would be who did work for DC at the time and who was just getting "El Gato Negro" going. One title I worked on that still has their site up is http://www.steeledestinies.com (http://www.steeledestinies.com/)

ugobe will probably have a pleo commercial before christmas, it will be really hard to resist that little voice in your head saying" come on just go out to the store and get it, you really want to wait 1 more month, while all those pleoworld members have their pleos, hugging them to death?, while your sitting here, PLEOLESS" ok maybe I should stop talking before I convince you to preorder a pleo right this very second:D

Christmas + New cool robot = Expensive toy

If someone else has made that decision for you, then you have no choice but to wait as patiently as possible. And we know how hard that can be. :)

But if the choice is all up to you, then you may want to consider a pre-order, even if it is potentially a bit more expensive. Why do I say that? Because Pleo is being made in limited numbers, and it is fewer than originally planned because of the change in batteries.

It is quite possible that Pleo may sell out, entirely, before Christmas. So he may not even be available after Christmas. There might be nothing left to put on sale and no way to get a "bargain priced" Pleo.

If that happens, it may be months before he is again available in the USA, because other countries need to get shipments of Pleo, too. I think they might have priority over a second USA shipment. So once he sells out in the USA, anyone wanting him may have to wait in line until after Europe and other countries receive their first shipments of Pleo.

Perhaps it won't be that way, though. No one really knows for sure. At this point, we are all just guessing. :)

Well, on the bright side, if Pleo is gone by Christmas, it gives you that much longer to save up for him until the time when he is available. Maybe your money supply and Pleo's availability will have a fortunate intersection in time.

Don't sulk, Monkeymoo -- these things have a way of working out for the best. :)

Hello, I'm Matt Bauer. My wife and I live in a tiny rural area of Ohio and operate a small robotics business. My main area of focus is in humanoid robotics, but I have also been anticipating this little dino's arrival for some time now. We enjoy attending robot events held in all parts of the world. Naturally, it was a real treat to see Pleo first hand at RoboGames in San Francisco this year. What can I say... the little guy won me over. I'm certain he'll make a wonderful addition to our family.

Well, nice to meet you all. I hope to help in any way I can (when the time comes that is);). Likewise, I'm sure to have my fair share of questions upon Pleo's release.

Because it was originally posted as a new thread in a different forum. When it was merged over to this thread it retained the name it was given in that forum.

As a side note you can change the "Title" of a specific post within a thread. Look at the title of this post. ;)

Hi there!

We are all eager to know everything about Pleo. Most of us haven't even seen him, yet. But we are having fun thinking about him, while we wait. I hope you find the answers you are looking for -- but if not, then stick around. It won't be too much longer before we can all tell you "first hand," because Pleo will be sharing our homes. :D

Ciao. I'm an Italian librarian, and not so well-versed in Robotics. But I'm fascinated at the idea of a pet-robot that can interact with its environment and is able to "learn". I'm recidivist: I bought a Furby, a few years ago ( "Oooh... my name is Oobe!" ) :-) First time I saw Pleo, I thought, "It moves exactly like my fatty she-cat Gegia. I wonder how he'd cope with her and the other cats."

I pre-ordered Pleo through Amazon, they should send it here in Italy early in December. If I'll be able to resist, I'll wait and hatch it in January, because I want to share its "birth" with my friends at our New Eve meeting. They could even find an apt name for the newborn. Considering the company and the fact that we like science fiction-fantasy, I suspect they'll decide that my Pleo is a female, and suggest names like Samantha, Ginny, Epiny or Galadriel! :-D

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I have always been into AI, and robotics. I am also into real animals, as a Licensed Veterinary Technician at a busy animal hospital in Virginia.

We have a large amount of pets, although we used to have more. Currently we have 2 chuckwalla lizards, 1 old green iguana, 1 box turtle, 1 red-eared slider, african dwarf frogs, 1 old cat and 3 big dogs.
We used to have parakeets, hermit crabs, a saltwater tank, and a squirrel. But all things pass, eventually.

All of which seems rather mundane compared to a posting I read which said they have a SEA TURTLE???

Anyway, I also have a LOT of robots. I started with a GigaPet puppy, back in 1994. I have i-cybies, TONS of furbies, a couple furby babies, tekno kitty, dog, and parrot. I have an assortment of Furreal animals, like the cat, puppies, kittens, tiger cub, panda, black bear, koala, and polar bear. I have an old Scoozie Pet and also a newer one which is much better. I have a couple aibos, new (ERS-7) and old (ERS-210), which I plan to someday really program, I just don't have the time right now.

My rarest robots are probably the two "Near Me" robot cats which I imported from Japan, since they were never sold in the US. Another rarity I grabbed when it came out were the "Tekno P.E.T.S." bird trio of Toucan, Cockatoo and Macaw. They interact with each other and it's hilarious! :D

I've preordered a Pleo for myself, and I also may get the new "Squawkers McCaw", although he seems kind of limited and childish.

And yes, I know I have a problem. heh heh But this has always been so fascinating to me. "Blade Runner" was rather inspirational to me, even though it is so dark in tone. We live in amazing times!

Waiting for Pleo news,
Rebecca

My name is Megan, but I guess you can can all call me Pleona (Oh no, I sense a humerous Pleona Lewis picture forming. xD) Anyways, I'm a 14 year old Scottish Robotics, Dragon, Animal and Art fanatic, and Pleo brings almost all of my interests together! I guess I too am interested in Pleo for the pet side of him. ;)
My parents already know I'm obsessed with Pleo, even my teachers (the doodles of pleo all over my Geography jotters helps with that), but the parents are taking a bit of begging to allow them to let me buy one in time for Christmas. Fingers crossed on that! (Mainly doing extra chores etc.)
Anyways, I hope that I can contribute well to the forums, and I simply can't wait to jump right into the fun!
Be seeing you all around!

Hello, I'm Gumbowumbo (after my mini dachshund "Gumbo"). I came across Pleo in August or September, and immediately decided he was for me. Joined the forums after seeing Pleo at Maker Faire. My Pleo will be named Broccoli because the image of Pleo next to broccoli (as though he were towering over a tree) makes me smile. My Pleo is being purchased by my husband (I say husband but we are getting married on New Year's Day, but I hate the word fiance), who thought that Pleo was not so awesome until he met him at Maker Faire. I have several animals both robotic and non, and my current robotic best is Nabaztag/tag who at just this moment is laughing like an evil villain.

Hey Falconlor and welcome to PleoWorld!

I think you'll find this a great place to be with a group of wonderful members.

Since we do have minors posting in the community we ask that you not ask specific questions about where people live, including their cities. Having a son in Cub Scouts I'm sure you'll understand our desire to keep our younger members as safe as possible. :D

Please explore the rest of the forums and jump in whenever you want!

Oh yeah, and by the way...my Pleo will be Cami. LOL

Hi MyCool and welcome to PleoWorld. :)

You're right, I felt like it was Chritmas in November, what with the shipping notification EMail and many people getting Pleo stickers.

Hi All,

I'm a mom (DD-13, DS-11) who loves technology even more than her kids do. I'm kind of what marketers refer to as an "early adopter" because I'm often on the list for the new stuff. (Yes, there was a Wii under the tree last Christmas and, though I didn't wait in line for it, I had an iPhone its first week out.) I like that I don't "fit the profile" when I ask for the latest PSP game.

But what I truly love are animals! I use my kids as an excuse for the succession of robotic pets that have traipsed through my house the past few years (the furbies, in particular, seemed to multiply like Tribbles!). Our latest robots were the whole line of Robosapiens--versions 1 and 2, plus Robopet, Roboraptor, Roboreptile.... I am so excited about Pleo and now I've got my son interested, too. Good thing, since I have two on order. :-) I need to see them interact!

We have lots of real pets, too, including 3 horses, 2 dogs, a cat, a tortoise, and three boas. Pleo will fit right in!

By the way, that new "robotic" pony (limited though it may be) was my life's dream when I was a kid. I was just born a little too soon! And no, I don't have one since I got tired of waiting and had to get the real thing. LOL!

Good to meet all of you.

Hi Eeyorefan and welcome to PleoWorld. It sounds like you are one busy lady with kids and all of the animals. And speaking of animals....I sure hope those boas aren't hungry. I'd hate to think that Pleo would "fit in" with them. ;)

No worries! :-) My boas are "Kenyan Sand Boas" and only get 3 feet long and about 2 inches around. I think Pleo could take 'em. (They are very shy, though, and live under the sand so we only see them on feeding day, anyway.)

I'm a northern Midwesterner, married, and have a cat and dog. Just like you all, can't wait to get my Pleo! I'm so glad I discovered Pleo only a week ago...if I knew about this darling dino at a demo a year ago, I think I'd be crawling out of my skin waiting! Speaking of skin, I agree with other posters, the first skin looked more realistic, but the new skin really appears to target the kids' market (which I am not part of, just an old kid at heart). The new skin looks fine to me, Pleo's still cute as a button. Hope you new-hatchers get yours soon. Mine is supposed to get to me the second week of December via Best Buy....not too much longer! Cheers! :)

Well, here i am. Not many people here yet, but i hope that changes. I hope that we can get a good community based off this. I see a lot of potential in the pleo. Now, i have not been able to find any info on this, but i hope that ugobe doesn't take the stance of Vex robotics and hinder the homebrew programs and hardware. At the same time, it would kind of ruin the point of the pleo if i gave it a low-power coil gun (as i have done to all my other robot). I know someone who works at the company (John Sosoka- not at all a close friend, he moved to another state years ago, plus a several decade age differential), so i have to take a fairly neutral position. Please Ugobe! Tell us if you are going to let us program our pleos! That is all. Edit-i found the topic for coding. whoops. But still, they do not talk about hardware. Best case scenario, they give us a full pin-out for the board, with documentation on all the specialized hardware. That would be awesome.

Hello I'm Brian and I just discovered and pre-ordered pleo about a week ago. I hope that all the online retailers( amazon, best buy, target, sharper image, and walmart) all get sufficient numbers of pleos for the flood of pre-orders that they must be getting!
I wonder if anybody knows if pleo will be available on any retail shelves at all before christmas? Does anybody know the expected number of pleos to be available to the online retailers? I wonder if it is possible for online retailers to take in more pre-orders than they even know that they will be able to fulfill???

Hello everyone!

A little bit about me, I live in the Southeast US and am in the heavy highway construction business. Like some others here I am, as I like to say "older than dirt." I am recently divorced, five years single, not too recent! I live alone now and never plan on that changing...

Not having the time in my personal life to care for a pet and really wanting one... (I didn't say there weren't disadvantages to living alone)...one day I came across an interesting magazine while on a business trip on the plane, Skymall I think, anyway after my trip and a few visits to the Skymall website I stumbled onto pleo at the sharper image website.

I was intrigued to say the least, although having absolutely no background in robotics I simply had to have a pleo! Can anyone else relate to that??? I ordered mine about three weeks ago and of course haven't seen any charges on my card yet. I'm sure sharper image meant that THEY would receive the pleo's by December 1st. So, I am waiting patiently for now.

Since I don't know if my pleo will be male or female, I have decided on a gender neutral name, "Sam". Anyway, it's great to be here! I Hope to learn a lot from all you experts in the robotics field! and if I ask a dumb question just chuckle under your breath and try not to laugh out loud!

Hi, I am Laurie. I live on the east coast. I am disabled and had to find new homes for my pets 2 years ago. I miss them but I'm not able to care for them like I used to.
When I received my Sharper Image catalog 2 1/2 weeks ago I was taken by the blue eyed cutie on the cover. I thumbed through the catalog to find out the details. What I found was the answer to my problem. I missed my pets, couldn't deal with the cleanup required, vets, pet food, walks and grooming were things of the past. There was my answer.....a Pleo.
I checked out the Ugobe website and couldn't have been more elated....I ordered one immediately. I can't wait! I haven't yet gotton my ship notice nor has the charge been processed but my order says shipping expected 12/10. The days are crawling by but I can't complain too much. Heck, some of you have been waiting years for this.
I had some trouble registering. Support was good enough to manually complete my registration. So, now I am able to join in.

My names Katrina, and ahh I've been watching the updates on the Pleo for what seems like forever! and finally joined the message boards today because I finally FINALLY pre ordered!!! WOOHOO!!!! *happy dance* I can not wait till he comes! And of course to see how my poor dog will react...but given the fact she's recently tried to be a mommy to 3 week old kittens, I'm sure she'll be just fine with a one week old pleo! ;) (from a distance of course)

Anyways...I am a midwest girl. The best of both worlds most of the time...random hot, and random freezing cold. I'm a bit of a robot geek. A Sims addict, and anything that deals with simulated life forms. So Pleo is the best of both. I fell in love with him when I was told no to any other pets, and even though I now do have a puppy, I will still be buying a pleo. My friends think that I'm nuts hehe but oh well I'm sure they will melt when he's here in person. Now that I officially have one coming I'm not sure if I can wait any longer! Can't wait to share all kinds of tips, and tricks :D

Hi, I am one of the essay contest winners and have waited patiently for Pleo. I finally heard he is on the way. I work as a psychotherapist and know that Pleo will be coming to work everyday. He will be a joy and asset to my clients. And of course I will love raising him and helping him develop into the best Pleo around. I hope to start a play group of other Pleo owners. I will wait to see who is interested over the next few months. I want to give Pleo a good solid start in life and many in my family circle are waiting to nurture and love this wonderful bot.

Hi! My name is Siren. I am 28 and have a 9 year old daughter. I am buying Pleo this year for Christmas for my daughter (and me!) :D
Besides the robotic pets, we have a zoo of pets at home. It helps that I work at a pet shop :)

Thank you! :D I will be sure to post videos of my daughter and pets' reactions to Pleo :) My dogs and cats will have issues with Pleo. But its my bearded dragon I am really wondering about. She chases my dogs (two German Shepherd mixes), so I wonder how she'll deal with a bigger lizard than her.

Hello-I've been reading about and waiting for Pleo for a looong time and now, I'm sitting here with the box and I can't OPEN IT!!! My husband is away on business and we agreed to both be there for Pleo's initial life stages. If it had only been delivered yesterday :) Oh well, it has been this long already, I can wait until Saturday. This is going to be so much fun!

Hey folks! Dave in Los Angeles here. My First Hatch Pleo just arrived, and is still snoozing in his box while the battery charges. :)

He's. So. Freaking. Adorable. *squee!*

Can't wait to get him up and running. Tried to find the registration area on pleoworld.com -- is it not live yet?

More updates soon!

Julie in Los Angeles here. I just picked up my Pleo from the FedEx facility. He's charging now. I am so excited to document his lifecycle I even took a picture of the Fedex building, the unopened box, each step - day one in my life with Pleo! The cat took a swat at him while he was lying prone on the floor after unpacking. Whoopeee!

Hi squeaky and welcome to PleoWorld.

I can't wait to see all the pictures you took and hear your stories with Pleo. If your cat is swatting at an inanimate Pleo lying on the floor all I can say is "Good luck" once Pleo is moving around. LOL

My Pleo arrived tonight. The dog feel like she is going to be replaced.

My favorite moment tonight was watching Pleo walk under a sofa table in my living room. She promptly got stuck, cried a bit, and then started backing up. She then turned and walked off in a different direction.

I know that this is expected behavior - - but seeing it in action for the first time is pretty magical.

I can't wait to order another couple of batteries to have on hand when Pleo is ready for more. :)

Hi folks,

I just got a Pleo for review. Although judging by my daughter's reactions we'll be purchasing a pleo around the time I have to return this review unit!

I'm currently charging up the battery and can't wait to turn her on. She's already been named Sebata by my daughter, who's busy drawing pictures of baby dinosaurs as I type this.

I cannot believe how amazingly cool this little dino looks. I'll be turning her on after dinner. If you're interested you can follow Sebata's exploits on my site, www.arsgeek.com.

First off -

Congratulations to all the folks who now have a new member of their household. My little Pleo arrived yesterday. His name is Digory. He has an older brother, a Sony AIBO, named Spike. I'm sure they'll get along fine.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Best Regards,
turtlex
