I was extremely suprised to learn not long ago that my favorite "dinosaur" actually ISN'T a dinosaur. I was always fascinated by pterodactyls and the flying animals of eons ago, but I didn't realize until recently that they don't fit into the category of LIZARDS and therefore they're not really *dinosaurs*. They were the contemporaries of dinosaurs, but apparently they are a different group altogether.
Fortunately, I had another favorite critter that actually falls under the "dinosaur" heading. I always liked duckbill dinosaurs. I thought they were cute. :)
http://www.search4dinosaurs.com/ms_pachycephalosaurus.jpg
I also had a particular fascination with a particular animal that appears to be situated somewhere between dinosaurs and birds... the archaeopteryx. It's described as "Archaeopteryx is a genus of flying, carnivorous dinosaur (http://www.mahalo.com/Dinosaurs) with feathers that covered its entire body. Although similar in appearance with modern-day birds (http://www.mahalo.com/Category:Birds), archaeopteryx possessed many features not found in any contemporary birds, including sharp teeth, three clawed fingers, a bony tail, and hyper-extensible middle toes."

What a wild planet this was at one time. I'm so glad UGOBE choice a camerasaurus baby instead of one of these others.:-0
If they had made a carnavore I'd be in Ferny's stomach!
It's not a dino, it's not prehistoric but you'll get over it. I love the platypus!
You know that book BB was talking about? Well, my aunt ordered it for me and I got it today! woo-hoo I can't wait to read it, I'm going to read it now!

me too!! it's an amazing animal. it's one of the only mammals to lay eggs! the males have poisonious barbs on their back feet, they have beaver tails, and duck bills. they are so odd. but they are so awesome:-D
tail of a beaver, feet and bill of a duck, body of an otter! Amazing. Even with the bill the babies can suckle! The first platypus sent into a mueseum was thought to be a fake, just a bunch of animal parts sewn together.

Its called Spinosaurus and it is a rare dinosaur because a skeleton of that was lost in world war 2. I like it to. I dont think it would have one against a tyrannosaurus rex though. T rex has the largest bite force of any dinosaur. The rex in JP3 would have crushed the Spinosauruses neck.

I have the same book. It says that they are hard to keep and should not be handled by a person who hasent bit his teeth Dicraeosaurus. It also says that The young posses character and must be kept in herds or else they will pine and wane. They like play fighting and enjoy making squeaky noises. It says you can buy them in Utah. I love this book.

Did you know that Spinosaurus actually had a sort of duck-like bill, and ate fish instead of meat (Well, it ate regular meat sometimes)? It was in the same group as Baryonyx was, and was our good friend Spinoosaurus was the largest of all the Spinosaurids. It also had the largest spine, and the first models looked like T-Rexes with a big sail on its back because they had a missing skull, and T-Rex and Allosaurus (Meh, no relationship at all) skulls were used as the substitute.

Oh, oh, oh, the Ballad of Big Al! Awesomeness! I own it, i love it, Al is my idol, you just don't get my ways. I live like an Allosaurus. Allosaurus is my whole life. My inspiration, and I like to compare myself to an Allosaurus. I also naturally hold my arms in a way the Allosaurus did, all bent against the body. I honestly like to think that i am an Allosaurus in reincarnation, because, if the tales I heard are true (And I truly believe they are), everybody is a reincarnated dinosaur.
Please no LOL's or rude comments. This is my lifestyle, and I don't like it when people have nasty comments about either my life-love, the Allosaurus, my love of the Allosaurus, and how I compare myself to it.
Oh, and no rude comments to the incarnation belief, either, please.

Oh, I actually have a copy of the most accurate book yet. It has Camarasaurus, too. :D
It's called:
Dinosaurs: The Most Complete Up-to-Date Encyclopedia for Dinosaur Lovers of All Ages
Long name, but it's worth it.
