Anyone out there who has worked with bi-ped robots, more specifically IMU's & dynamic walking gaits, will surely appreciate this... and the rest of you pleo owners will get a kick out of the end no doubt. ;)

Simply sweet!

This robot sure had his work cut out learning to surf, pulling his own parts around and then taming Pleo. Absolutely adorable!

Nice find -- thanks for sharing!

I was literally LOL at the parts with Pleo, especially when Pleo was making all the "play" noises like panting and growling. Oh, and wagging his tail while the 'bot is trying to haul him across the table. :D Bwahaha! Too cute.

I suspect it was a pre-1.1-upgrade Pleo, however. At least from Irwin's pre- and post-upgrade behavior, he was more likely to play tug-of-war before the upgrade, and he's more likely to eat the training leaf now. I can imagine a post-upgrade Pleo in that video; instead of panting and growling, there'd be crunching and swallowing. And when Pleo was done with the leaf, there'd be a "*cough* PLEH" as he spat the leaf out.

Picture what would've happened if the walking robot was towing Pleo by the leaf, and Pleo let the leaf go? Would the walking robot fall on its nose, figuratively speaking, or would it be able to compensate for suddenly not having any weight to haul anymore? I wonder.

I was waiting for that to happen with the robot. I thought for sure it would fall over frontwards, on his nose, if Pleo let go of the leaf. :-)

I think that pleo had a little assistance holding on to the leaf! :)

I don't get it. Why would anyone be intolerant of a device that possesses only two legs vs. any other number? I think it is neat seeing them move like we do. :)

I'm scared of them, and I find them un-cool. It's a human. Yippee.

I would love one that could do some household chores. He would become a great buddy of mine.:D

LOL, I'm right with you on that one. I've already got a Roomba, so technically that's one robot that can do chores, but I'm always up for adding a few more. A robot to wash dishes and a robot that dusts would be good additions to the robo-team around here. :)
