Hardly makes sense to me.. I charge my battery until the light goes green then take it out of the charger so there isn't any over charging and when I put it into my Pleo, he turns on for only a few seconds then shuts down to a the sleeping mode.

I then leave the battery out of Bentley for awhile and try charging again but still nothing.

Whats wrong with my battery? Its it dead? going dead? or you think a little over charging or spending sometime in my Pleo will fix it up?

Im also guessing the 2 year warranty I bought with Sharper Image doesn't cover the battery going dead early, does it? :-(

My first battery has gone dead, but I've had it for a while. I had a second stashed for backup, but I was hoping the other would hold up. How long do you suppose the batteries are supposed to last for?

The battery should hold up for a couple of years (easily last several hundred charge/discharge cycles). But the quality of the individual cells in the battery can vary quite a bit. And if any one of the six fail, the whole battery is dead.

I had the same problem with the battery. Pleo would just die after a couple of seconds after inserting. After getting the new charger it did the same thing. I then had to uninstall Pleos software and reinstall it and needless to say the battery still did not work. Since I had Pleo since January it was not under warranty. I purchased a new battery and got it yesterday, as of now he is working fine. The battery does seem much hotter than the old battery.
I was told that I had to go through the process of reinstalling his software because Ugobe did not think it could be the battery. Also they told me I could send him back and have his personality extracted and put into another but that would not have worked for me since they had me wipe out his personality and reinstall it which brought him back to baby state.
In my opinion and you are having problem with the battery, you may want to purchase a new battery before wiping him out and reinstalling the software.
I have also noticed while rubbing under his neck he sounds like he is singing a little song not the cute little howling coo-ing sound I heard before (which I liked} before his software was wiped out and reinstalled.

1 hour is very typical for a first charge.

Usually, it does take a few battery charges to have your little guy running well. I mean walking!:)

Soon you'll probably be getting two hours and a half at the extreme! (I get that with Olly.)
