Hello everyone!

We have a new addition to our family. Our new Pleo hatched earlier today. He is very lively and loves all the attention he is getting from our kids. I have some questions as a new Pleo mother. Our Pleo falls asleep and we cant wake him up unless we turn him off and back on again. Is this normal? How long does his battery last? It may be that we are exhausting him but he was only playing for an hour before he slept:confused: This really is the best pet you can get. He is so much fun:)

Hi hayfrey and congratulation on your new Pleo. :D

Your experience sounds perfectly normal. Pleo lasts an average of one hour on a battery charge. If you turn him off and back on and hear a "snore" sound this is further confirmation that the battery needs charged.

We hope you'll enjoy exploring the community and please keep us up to date on how it's going with your new pet.

Thank you for the prompt response :) He is not snoring when we turn him back on, he just yawns and plays for a while. I am relieved that this is normal. I feel like a neurotic first time mother, lol. We finally have a name for him, Jessie. Well Jurassic Jessie to be formal :)) He is settling in very well with our family. Even my youngest son (4) is showing his nurturing side.

Just remember how neurotic you were when your oldest child was born and you didn't know what to expect? Well, take heart that we all felt that way when we first got our pleos. At least you don't have to worry about changing Jessie's diaper! ;) And unlike when you had your first child, this time you have 14,000+ aunts and uncles out here ready and eager to help. :D

Oh, yeah, while we're on the subject. Keep in mind that your newborn pleo will reach it's adolescent stage within a few charges. So, when it comes to teenage pleos, just say no to tattoos and body piercings!
