Well, it's nice to see that Pleo is being treated as the gold standard for cute robots. :)

My gosh but those Alive Cubs are adorable. It doesn't detract one iota from Pleo's cuteness, however.

But the Alive Cubs aren't really comparable to the Pleo, except for the facts that they're all robots and they're all cute. There's a substantial difference in price and also in abilities of the two kinds of robot. From the description in the article, Pleo can do everything that the Alive Cubs can do, plus Pleos can walk around and explore their surroundings, perform simple tricks on cue, receive OS updates, play back skits and personalities from an SD card, and (with upgraded OS) develop their personality based on the interaction they receive.

But did I mention that the Cubs and Pleo are all cute as heck? :) If I ever hit the lottery and can afford to buy a second house to store all my gadgets, I'd gladly add these toys to the collection. ;)

they reminds Hasbro's Fur Real than Pleo... yes, they're cute but nothing compared to Pleo!

I never thought I'd say this....but that lion cub looks freaking cute, I might get one. I totally adore lions and love one of these simply to cuddle with, when it be to dangerous to cuddle Waffles. (On the couch while watching something spooky. I'd sqeeze poor Waffles dead....)

I watched this video, even though it's cut at the end, those motions of the kitty are really good!

nothing compared to pleo but that lion is extremely cute. The polar bear is frightening though.

Wowwee toys can not hold up against Ugobe. I have many of their robots totally disappointed, especially RS Media what a joke.

Wowee toys break way too easily, and most of them are skinny ugly things.

I actually think they're pretty ugly and creepy looking. especially the polar bear! he looked like he was about to attack me when I wasn't looking:-D:D:)!!!

The cubs do look sort of creepy... :eek: But some of the other things from Wow Wee are pretty good. But not as good as Pleo! (not even close :) ) Like the Robosapien. It was my first actually pretty good robot. The cubs are more for younger kids and the Pleo more for older kids and up. (in my opinion)

I just saw these in Target over the weekend and was not in any way impressed. I could definately see these for little kids around 3-6 maybe but definately not anyone older. They don't really do anything but holler and they didn't really even look cute to me. jmho;-)
