New life-forms?
SB: We have some new things coming in October. We need to get more and more software out there for Pleo. Next year we will bring out additional life-forms. I can't say which right now but the new lifeforms don't necessarily have to be for purely entertainment purposes.

Maybe we should go back to relying on a four legged creature to get us around. Plug in a dinosaur and away we go!:D

Interesting that new life forms are already planned.
How did they got to engineer a new life form so quickly?
They spent years and years on Pleo alone.
And if the programmers are busy programming the new life form, who is then writting / updating the LifeOS (v1.2) for Pleo?

I hope they're concentrated on Pleo's firmware upgrades first!;)

I would imagine that with Pleo finished, most of the basics have been covered already. They would probably use most of the same programming used for Pleo, with certain modifications.

another detail from new Steve Bannerman's interview (from Ugobe press archive)

"There are many things planned for Pleo's future, says Bannerman. Though he could not disclose exact details, he did say that Pleo could go in many directions and that the company is working hard to improve him. "Pleo spends a lot of time convincing you he's humanlike, but then you stick a cable into him," he says. "We're working hard to figure out some interesting ways to deliver content to him automatically so that you're not reminded that you're using a machine."

Would be really cool if there was some way of wirelessly gettin stuff to him so you dont have to keep turning him on or off to change personality

What happened to the big announcement in October we were supposed to get? Did I miss it? I was looking forward to something new regarding either Pleo, or a cool new Ugobe product. Any idea when the announcement will be, or any links to it if it's already occured? Cheers!

i think the announcement was the halloween personality, which was fun but not exactly the "big announcement" we were all waiting for

Yeah. The Halloween Update was nice, but it wasn't really a big announcement. I'm hoping UGOBE have something else up their sleeve, they just had to delay it. Also can't wait to hear about these new lifeforms for next year.

Any word about when we're going to get some real big news about Pleo and/or future Ugobe products?
