After taking a look at the website, I put "genpets" into a search engine to see what would come up.

This was there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genpet

I have to say, it was a bit of a relief to see the explanation on the wiki page. I wasn't at all certain that the concept of genpets was a workable one as described on that website. The packaging, etc looked like cruelty-to-bioengineered-critters, if you ask me.

I'm so happy this is a fake. Seriously, pets made to have certain behaiviours and life spans, boxed up in plastic.....that would be horrible.....

Actually it's not going to any specific Plog but going to the sign in page. It probably pulls up yours for you because you are signed in. It probably does this for everyone with a Plog when they are signed in.

Spirit if you want to fix your signature line your Plog ID is:

actually, the scare factor wasn't so much the fact that they were little animals in plastic. It was that they were completly artificial creatures that were being marketed as toys. What bothered me was the whole Frankenstein factor of it all. I don't believe in a god, but I feel as though life is something that is wonderful and should be upheld and cherished, not messed with. It wouldn't have neen that big a deal to me if they were being sold as little pets, but they weren't. They were being marketed as cheap 15.00 toys, and that really hit a soft spot when I saw it. The artist who made them was trying to make a point, and apparently, he succeeded.
