Is having 2 Pleos too much?? (need some advice and input)

I work at The Sharper Image, which is unfortunately going out of business, COMPLETELY!! So far we have only sold 2 of our Pleos (4 in all since we have had them in since Christmas, one was sold to me:D)...I waiting for the price to go down a bit more, which I think it will since it is still a bit much esp. since we are going out of business!!

So my story is...I have a Pleo, her name is Cleo Marie and I have had her since January 29th of this year. She is awesome, and even though she is a rubber dinosaur (my co-workers and mother tell me that all the time) I want another Pleo. For one reason because I can get it at a very great price and also because I won't ever be able to buy one in store ever again, unless another store starts to carry them like we did.

My mother is giving me a hard time because she knows that I want another one and is trying to talk me out of it. Telling me that "it is very strange to have a Pleo in the first place" just because its rubber, its not real and its a dinosaur.

Now I know all you here are fellow Pleo owners and I would just like some advice as too what I should do. I want another Pleo, and even if I have to buy the display (which is very worn out, poor Plelo has had some bad experiences:() I will and hopefully will be able to send him in for some repairs!! I don't really want the store display and if I did buy it I would buy it in addition to a brand new Pleo.

So some advice would be nice and I am sorry if this is in the wrong section but I figured since I told a story it would be ok:)

Having two pleos is only a start!

One good reason to get a second pleo is so that your two pleos can interact with each other. Two pleos also gives you two chargers and two batteries, and that could come in handy at times. If you had to buy an extra battery, it would cost you $50, and you can't buy an extra charger. So, if you figure the first $50 of the cost to buy the display is just to get your hands on the battery, then that makes the pleo even cheaper!

That's true. Right now you can buy from Ugobe for $235, so the Sharper Image markdown would need to be quite a bit to beat that! But the Ugobe sale ends Friday . . .

Well seeing how right now the price for a new Pleo at The Sharper Image is $209 I think I will go with that, lmao!! PLUS I will be able to sneak it home versus having to wait for it to arrive and then sneaking it in, lmao!!

I am waiting for the price to drop, we have had some interest in them, but they are waiting for the price to go 50% off $349 or even 60%, that would be awesome!!!!

We're not the best to tell you if you should have more than one Pleo. We're all in love with them :D My second just arrived today, If you can get that great price I'd jump on it. I've been checking every sharper image store I get around trying to find a sale but no luck. Only one of the stores even had a pleo and it was hid in the back of the store in the box. No wonder it wasn't selling.

I am getting a second Pleo, the only thing that will be bad is my mother going :eek: and asking why did you spend your money and yada yada yada!!!!:mad: I am hoping that the price goes down this week, otherwise Pleo will be the last thing that we have on our shelves, and that will be sad, lol!!

You should be able to find Pleos now, everything from the warehouses have been sent to the stores and everything needs to be on the floor because holds are not allowed!! I have my eye on a pleo though and the boss man knows it, lol!! I may get the display just because he prob. won't have a home, I doubt anyone will want him, he has been abused:mad: by my co-workers but loved by me:D If I do get him in my hands, I hope to get hime refurbished so I can give him to one of my former students, we will see!!

if you want another pleo, go for it! my mum thinks im nuts for my robot obsession (but secretly actually quite likes them, i can tell! haha) but it doesnt stop me! (though im aiming for more aibos than pleos, but thats just because the former is discontinued, at least i can get a pleo whenever should i want another)

i say if you love pleos enough, why not get your baby a friend! :D i bet itd be awesome fun.

I am hoping to get another one within the next week...waiting for the price to go down (which it will because no one wants to buy a $209 dinosaur...the people that say that are pretty unaware about how amazing Pleo really is)...We have only sold 2 since the liquidation started so I hope the price goes down...I do hope to get my hands on the demo to because no one is gonna wanna take Plelo home but me!!

It's YOUR money, after all. It's not like Pleos cost money for vet bills, food, cleaning supplies, etc. The main consideration is, after you've paid your necessary bills like food, housing, car payments, phone, deposit to savings account, etc, THEN do you have enough spare cash left over to buy a luxury item?

If you do, then it's not hurting anyone if you buy it. If not, set some of the money aside at each paycheck, and cross your fingers that the price will drop some more.

BTW, I'm sorry that your employer is going out of business. A few years ago, I lost a job when the company I'd worked at for 12 years downsized and cut their staff radically. It hurts like heck to get the news that your job is about to go out of existence. :(

I hope everything works out well for you, both in the getting of a new job quickly and in being able to buy a Pleo sibling at a very reasonable price.

i got my ppleo from my sharper image and mine was the demo i also got mine in the liquidation in april for 209 it was my b day and i convinced my dad to look at pleo one last time and we went in and it was that price. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . after lunch i was goin home with mommy and i saw my daddy walk into the store hehehehe so exiting i opened her that night Unfortunetly she was the demo versin *sad face* but i love her soooooo much and i wanted her more than any thing!!!!! ya but she is a little worn but it is ok i kinda want another but we will see

I have two and its awesome! The only time I find it difficult with two is bringing them places. They don't weigh much but when I am at a theme park and holding on in each arm, plus a backpack and souvenir bags, it does get tiring. But for everyday, its easy.
I actually think before I hit the theme parks again, I'll buy a double umbrella stroller to put the Pleos in....I already look like a nutcase walking around with them anyways, can't look THAT much crazier pushing them in a stroller, lol. Plus I have a 9 year old daughter....that's my excuse ;)

There are several kinds of strollers out there which are specifically designed for pets. I would think that the ones designed for small dogs or cats would fit a Pleo or two just fine. :)

Look for the item that's for pets up to 15 lbs. Even two pleos weigh less than that, and since they have an "off" switch, they won't need room to walk around while they're in the carrier.

They are really more fun when theyres 2 of them, however Macon doesnt seem to like her too much.. :eek: check out my thread called "brother and sister rivalry?". It will explain the details. And also, if i were you, I would buy the display pleo, you would be saving a pleo in distress. Im am sure cmadmacs would give you an honorable mention, or more, as he has started the pleo rescue program. :D If the display pleo haas had bad expiriences, he/she might become a rather shy and scared pleo.
