I am just birthing my Pleo named Jerry (see my plog) this weekend and am considering creating a virtual reality islands in Second Life for my Pleo to live in and interact and grow in even when I am not with him (interface to be constructed). Has anyone given any thought to this idea?

Cool idea. I haven't done anything in second life but have wanted to,. It would be cool for them to have others to interact with and grow and on their own. That could be a place for us to have a reunion of the pleos.

If other Pleo owners reside in Second Life, we could have a virtual meet-up. :)

I could offer up my private island estate as the location. Plenty of room there!

Private Island Estate?????? You definitely have figured out second life. you'd probably have to give half of us directions but it could be a blast.

Second Life????

I am definitely no expert and will let someone else give a better description. But, basically it's an online game....or perhaps I should say online world where people interact, and create islands, etc.

Second life can be used for business as well as entertainment. I've heard of different companies setting up sites in second life where they will hold meetings or do product demos.

A very interesting report on a similar idea - an AI entity living in SL.

Worth noting too that Second Life is free to play at it's basic level, so if you have any interest in checking it out, it is easy to do so. :)

If you do, and need help learning the ropes, I am a Mentor in SL and am usually on from 10-midnight Eastern time. My in-game name is Cutter Rubio. I've been a resident for over 4 years now.

I am a resident there for about 2 years now.
The only reason why I still come there, if because I actually made some friends.
They range from Australia to Germany. Most of them are really happy to see me when I logon since I used to hang around with them a lot more then I used to.

Meeting Pleo friends here would be awesome.
Next to text chat there is also voice chat, which works great nowadays as well!

My name on Second Life is Darkwolf Burton :)
