Lol, I'd love to if I wasn't so busy with work all of a sudden. Its really strange, I get time to draw when Im off work for so long but as soon as I do they call me back for a whole week :( they dont want me to be creative.

for these i use photoshop 7 and a graphics tablet. but sometimes i use coloured pencils, just takes me longer :)

photoshop is a series of programmes. i have version 7, but i think the latest is CS2? ive not looked. 7 is my favourite one. its quite expenive though, about £600? i borrowed mine off a friend :D

PhotoShop is up to CS3 (so v7 is at least 3-4 versions out of date, not that that's a problem) made by Adobe. It does run $600 or more depending on how you get it bundled. :eek: For simple photo manipulation, you can get PhotoShop Elements for around $70. But that won't work as a "drawing" tool.

A FREE open-source suggestion that I use and that pleoguy101 has played around with is GIMP (I like the version offered at www.portableApps.com because it doesn't install a bunch of stuff into your computer registry of system directories) and it even has an add-on that makes it look like PhotoShop. All the Bob the Pleo strips are also done in GIMP. :cool:

But I will also say, neither GIMP nor PhotoShop are for the computer illiterate. They both have a learning curve to use them effectively. Which is why products like PhotoShop Elements were created for the non-computer crowd. :p

I could never get the hang of GIMP. but ive used photoshop since i was 13 (had version 6 then) it does take some learning but once you know the general basics, its not that hard to get the hang of it all. :)

Just like my pleo art, I mostly leave everything as a sketch (when Im in a slump) but while I'm here I'd figure I throw something at you all. I DO draw from time to time and I mostly work on quick cute little drawings of custom My Little Ponies~ both as art and as key chains :3


I still need to repost pictures of what the key chains look like but what I'm REALLY trying to get is that aside from the ponies I'm going to try and get used to drawing pleos and maybe draw everyones custom pleos in art to your liking or as key chains! :3 Comments and questions are welcome to the suggestion and I'd love to read what you all have to say! it's a great work! But, i would suggest you to draw pleo without any program first, and re-touch him with pc programs after, like any cartoonist. I love your style, pleos looks so natural and expressive! :)

Aw thank you but that actually sketched on the computer ^^ I hardly use pencil anymore, too much switching around files but I did just complete a picture~ Starfire gave me the idea!

Hm, Id have to look into that but theres something about key chains that makes the idea better. You always carry them and more people notice a key chain then a magnet on your fridge since you cant carry that around ^^

Yeah, I know. I'm not teh best with paint. Those two were my first actual "Proper" dragons. It's just that I do NOT have much skill with paint.

they look good! :D i used to draw dragons.. they wer ethe first things i ever really drew... dragons and dinosaurs.. i loved em when i was little XD MS paint is a bit of a pain to draw it at ties but it can be fun.

if you use a mouse i suggest the curved line tool... when you get the hangt of it you can do some nice neat art with it.

I still could use a drawing for the Bob the Pleo comic. I need a picture for Fred's Pizza Pleo restaurant and was looking for the classic image of the pizza guy throwing the pizza crust in the air. I don't have a photo, but here's a really lousy sketch of the idea. It would be a pleo head and neck, with the pleo wearing a white chef's hat, possibly with one of those handlebar mustaches. you would also see his two fett looking like he's tossing/spinning the pizza dough.

I was working on the story of "It's the Great Pepperoni, Bob" where we would get to meet Fred and see the pizzeria for the first time.

they look good! :D i used to draw dragons.. they wer ethe first things i ever really drew... dragons and dinosaurs.. i loved em when i was little XD MS paint is a bit of a pain to draw it at ties but it can be fun.

if you use a mouse i suggest the curved line tool... when you get the hangt of it you can do some nice neat art with it.

i have a wacom bamboo tablet. it doesnt have a mouse but my last tablet did.
i tend to draw from scratch in photoshop 7... sketch to finnished, but i also do my outlines on paper and scan sometimes. im waiting for my markers to come out of customs so ill show you what my none digital art looks like ;)
