Some people are just plain mean!

There is a guy on YT criticizing my video of my daughter getting Pleo. The video that won the holiday contest. He's also criticizing the judges (IE Ugobe and Pleoworld members). Why do people have to act like such trolls?

I got trolls on my Sea World video too. I guess with popularity comes haters. Gotta take the good with the bad I guess. But that's why YouTube allows users to delete comments and block other users. Its like Troll-B-Gone. I will be sure to use it instead of arguing with them anymore. It won't get me anywhere and not that the video have become more popular it will totally waste my time. I only want positive kid-friendly posts on my Pleo videos :P

And I deleted blabbermouth's comments and my replies. And blocked him. I am so done with him after his latest reply. Its a waste of my time.

However, the article on Engadget has a trollish person there saying I am only looking for post count. Apparently being excited that the video is loved by 1000s of people means I am being a post count *bleep*. I guess according to him and his infinite wisdom about my video, I shouldn't mention the post count at all. How dare I actually be excited about something.

I loved the video. She was SO EXCITED!! It actually brought tears to my eyes. It was my childhood dream to have a baby dinosaur, so I can totally understand what a special moment it was for her to open that box and see Pleo. So what if you didn't show Pleo doing anything! That guy totally missed the point. Great video, and I agree with Mweed, there ARE an awful lot of idiots in the world.

Aside from what looked like Pleo abuse, his running commentary was very annoying, not to mention inappropriate for kids. He apparently thinks he is clever and amusing, but I guess we should just feel sorry for him that his big kick in life seems to be advertising his own lack of taste and good sense.

I actually got a personal response back from the guy, indicating that he is aware of the quality and length of his video but that it was a rush job.
Still amazing he spent 8 minutes for such a "rush job" heheh.
Haven't seen the abuse since I waited for it to buffer and went thru the video rather quickly! :D

Some people apparently think that the only way to make their mark on the world is by vandalizing things that other people enjoy. It even happens online, like when people post rotten comments on a perfectly harmless video.

You're right to just ignore it. I hope the person outgrows that childish behavior.

Yes, it is -- which reminds me that I haven't bought any in a couple of eons. Maybe it's time I picked it up the next time I see it in a store.

The story behind how I discovered I like beef jerky is a little unusual. (Like most things I do, it seems. ;-)) I belong to the booster club for the local AHL hockey team. The team is called the Phantoms, so we're the "Phan Club". :) We have a program that's pretty popular, called "Secret Phan". Participants draw names of players, and then we are responsible for giving said player an anonymous gift each month during the season. At the end-of-season banquet, attended by the team and the Phan Club, we present the final gift and have the opportunity to introduce ourselves then.

Anyway, at the start of the season, the players fill out a form telling us things like their favorite color, their favorite snacks, and other things that will make it easier for us to choose gifts they'll like. One year, I had a player who wrote "beef jerky" was his favorite snack. So when I was putting together a gift bag for the month, I decided to get beef jerky for him. It looked so interesting that I decided to buy TWO bags of it: one for my player, and one for me to try. Well, no wonder he likes beef jerky. I tried it, and I like it too. :)

Great. Now I'm hungry. I wonder why? :D
