View Full Version : Pleo mp3 player
Guys would this be possible if so would you use it?
You place a number of mp3 on a SD card & pleo plays them
you could use pleos sensors as buttons

when you convert the mp3s to .wav it works already with pleoskit. The sound quality isnt as good as with mp3, but it works.
Since i have my pleo all the time in the same room with my computer, which i use for mp3-playback i would not use pleo to play mp3s converted into .wavs.

It may be possible, it would eat up a lot of Pleo's brainpower. It would be a lot of work and would require removing existing functionality to put it in.
Not very practical for a number of reasons, and even if you could get it to work, it would be a poor MP3 player because of the Pleo hardware (speaker, hard to access SD card, no screen, etc)
For anyone considering it, please spend your time on something else.
IMHO: Robot pets should be programmed to do things unique to robot pets. There are many other little boxes that can play MP3s way better than PLEO ever could. IMHO: Once the Sony engineers started worrying about making AIBO play MP3s and WMAs, the robot personality software went downhill.
