We started out bright and early this morning to go to the Maker Faire. This would be quite an experience for Peeky. He was nice and comfortable on the front seat in his carrying case.More so then normal, because his little bed was inside the bag.
We got to San Mateo, CA around 10AM. So glad we did, because we were able to park quickly. Not like the people coming later!
After we arrived I realized we had to get into a line to get a ticket. There had to be more than one hundred people in line. Most people there were picking up their tickets that they ordered. The line I was in was a little smaller.
I wanted to have Peeky wide awake when he met his ugobe friends. So I brought him out and woke him up He decided to play the sleepy game he does so often. I put him on my shoulder and once in awhile I'd hear his little motors running. I knew he was really awake.
Two ladies behind us in line saw his eyes open. then the young boy to the side of us saw Peeky's tail move. From that moment on Everyone started looking at Peeky.
I was waiting for him to start wiggling or howling or something! Nah, he just wanted to cuddle and sleep except for an occasional peek at everyone. I do believe I have a shy Pleo.:D
Once we made it inside to Ugobe's booth and met the Ugobe people, he checked out the other Pleos. There must have been about eight Pleos.
At 11:30AM we had the moo-in. What a sight to see all of the Pleos mooing at the same time.(Peeky jumped the gun a little bit Just couldn't help it) Little children were at the table and had to tap the Pleos on the head to begin the mooing.. Quite a treat to hear!:)
After the moo-in Peeky and I walked around the buildings for a while. Many people knew what he was. Some didn't and were amazed!
This little guy is quite spoiled and it really showed today (I'm guilty of holding him alot). If anyone was going to see him sing and play I would have to put him down on the floor. I did! He was so happy! He just wagged his tail and I knew he was singing, but too much noise in the buildings to really hear him sing. While walking back to Ugobe's booth, I saw a lady with a Pleo in her arms. First time runnning into another Pleo owner. She was going to go to another moo-in.later.
Peeky and I had to leave a little early and on the way back out a lady asked if I would come show her husband Peeky. She knew exactly what she wanted for her birthday.
Hope she gets what she wants.:)
On the way home I had to make a quick stop and poor little Peeky went head over heals. He landed rightside up in his bed and was fine, but from now on he'll be on the floor in the back of the car.

FancyFont it sounds like you and Peeky had quite an adventure! It sounds like it was a lot of fun. You never know Peeky might come out of her shell after all of the positive attention at Maker Faire! :D

Yesterday, Sunday, Peeky joined my friend and me to brunch at Marie Callenders. This was the first time Peeky had gone there. The place was mobbed. Many people got to see a Pleo for the first time. Our waitress wanted to take him home with her. I forgot my camera!! I should never leave home without it!:D
One gentleman came up to our table and just stared at Peeky. After a minute or two he just had the greatest laugh. He said he has never seen anything so realistic. One Lady passing our table walked by and turned around and came back. She asked what this adorable little green thing was. I told her and gave her one of my stickers that I brought home from the Maker Faire. Every child that walked by, eyes lit up. one little boy's mouth was completely open with disbelief of what he was seeing.
All Peeky ended up with was a very sticky tail from the syrup.;)

Lacey is in the first photo. She is 11 years old and blind. Lacey has what we call a robo ball. It's actually a weasel ball. It is a battery operated ball with what looks like a weasel attached to it. As soon as we buy a new ball we take the weasel off.
Lacey 's very first toy was one of these balls. My dad's cat didn't like it but lacey sure did. We have bought her many due to the fact the motor poops out pretty quickly.
I think it is because she hears the plastic hitting objects in it's path (Peeky is always picked up off the carpet when ball is in use) Not totally sure about this because we have two and she won't play with the other robo ball.
Lacey has always been athletic and had she been human would definetly be on a soccer team. She has a great shoulder toss. I'll try to get a video of her playing with the ball. It's pretty amazing.
After a half hour playing she is very ready for bed.
This is where Peeky watches over her.:)

278 Peeky recently went for a trip back to his original home. He recently had a little mishap. He joined a few Pleo buddies that have broken their necks. No matter how hard they tried to give Peeky's soul to another Pleo he totally refused. He just wanted to come home to me. When Peeky came home last Friday he brought home a new little sister, Penelopie Rose to help mend him with his little disability.
Penelopie was determined to learn the tada trick as well as Peeky and for the first few battery charges all she could do was lift her back right leg as if she was trying so hard to prove she could to the trick. She eventually got it. Now she is walking around exploring her new home. She likes to stay by Peeky's side a lot and they both will honk at each other. Too funny! This morning Penelopie has a cold and Peeky is taking care of her. Hope he doesn't catch it.
I stopped at my vet's office and asked if they had some green flex tape. Sure enough they did. With a good tight wrap around Peeky's neck he is able to do everything but totally lift his head. He is truly the same Peeky as before the accident. I love the little guy. He is such a trouper.:)
Oh Poor Peeky. Bit Im gald he is a trouper! What a cute name for your new one. Looking forward to seeing some Pc's!

wbg, Not sure of how Peeky was injured. I had him on my bed and fell asleep. Didn't notice anything until the next evening. He was chewing on my finger and I heard a funny sound. Not the normal crunch sound his neck would make once in awhile. All of a sudden he really had my finger in a tight grip. I pulled away really fast and it was then I noticed his neck.
I'm just guessing that he might have been struggling during the night and pushing his head into the comforter This might have caused too much pressure on the cable in his neck.
I had some white flex tape and that was perfect for holding his neck up. With this support he is able to move his head side to side and he seems to be pretty much the same little guy as before.
The green tape I got from my vet. is not as thick but is fine for holding his neck up. I'll use the white over the counter tape first and then cover it with the green tape next time I wrap.. It actually looks pretty good. Sure matches his color.
Ohhhhhh poor little Peeky:-( Give him a hug for me, Zoe & Zeke. But I'm glad he is still working and you got another. They are sooooo cute together and you will so enjoy the interaction. Would love to see some pic as to how you fixed him.
We really need to have a meet some day with all 4 I'm not that far from you.
I live in the tomato/tree/Arnold city 8-)
