he needs to be fed like almost all the time tho

I find that my pleo acts sleepy and makes groaning noises. My pleo don't show signs of hunger if he's not starving. just try to give it to him and see if he eats it.

Try to touch both front leg sensors. Pleo will forget/skip he's hungry and will go to explore. He will be more active if you do this.
By giffing him his leave every time he ask for it he will be doing this more and more.
If you ignore him he will be sad and go to sleep more often.
