Pleo At Sea World

A few scenes, I adjusted the brightness/contrast a bit. The Jewel Aquarium at Atlantis was dark inside so it was a bit hard to see. The first scene, yes, that is the floor. It was a tank with sting rays and fish. I was cracking up as I cut the video together and saw this scene of Pleo on the ground and a little boy is playing with him and Shamu swims by. The boy could give a rat's behind about the whale...he wanted to play with the dinosaur. :p Sorry Shamu!

The dolphin scenes are last. Its a bit long. Maybe some might find it boring because its just dolphins looking at it. But it just amazes me. And then to sit here and think...what the dolphins might be thinking. Their echolocation can't pass through glass (that I know of), so they couldn't likely use it as an ultrasound to see into the Pleo and see it wasn't real. So did they believe they saw a real animal? Or a toy? The trainers often use remote controlled cars in the are and the dolphins chase them along the glass. Unlike those cars, this creature was reacting to them, so did they believe it was alive? Did they feel they were communicating with it? Were they trying to communicate with it? Am I looking too far into this? LOL

BTW, Ugobe....Sea World trainers say they want a waterproof pleisiosaur ;)

Also, I added the watermark to my video because after seeing how people take other's videos without permission and post them on their own YT, I wanted to help curb this from happening.

Thank you all! It was a very special day for us. It was just so amazing to watch.

And I love how dolphins look at the world. They always look twice. They look with one eye, turn and then look with the other. I never get tired of that. Also watch sometimes when Pleo wags her tail, they fan their flippers. Not sure if they did it to help swim or was a reaction to Pleo's motions.

You can really tell the dolphines were impressed with your Pleo. The way they kept checking her out. WOW!! I wonder if they check people out like they did Pixie?

No, they don't check out people so much. They swim by, sometimes stop and look at someone for a moment, but keep going. I love how they shove each other out of the way. LOL

My jaw just hit the floor! Ugobe placed my video on the Pleo World front page!!! OMG! Thanks guys!!!!! I am very very honored by that! I can't wait to show my family and friends :D

BTW, the video is #12 in Pets and Animals for most viewed today. And over a 1000 views and its not even been on for 24hrs yet! Its becoming a YT phenomenon! LOL

Also, I know there was issues with posting my videos here before due to copyrights. The music in the Sea World video, both pieces, came from a website that has free royalty free music. So no copyright issues whatsoever. So it can be passed around, watched, posted, etc without fear of copyright infringement :D

Wow! Thanks Sarah! You made me blush! And let the support rep know I was tearing up too filming it. Dolphins always make me cry. Its a spiritual experience to be near them and killer whales for me anyways. I watch the dolphin and whale shows and always hold back tears. There is something so very magical about them. Thank you for sharing it with so many. It is a true honor for me and makes it all the more special!

And so awesome about the new feature you guys are doing and to be the first one to be up and again, a great honor to me! :D I feel all warm and fuzzy!

Play with. Dolphins won't eat anything but fish. The trainers indicated to me that their reaction to Pleo was play response. Blowing bubbles, waving flippers, and how they carried their body was in play.

they're adorable!:o there's a funny moment in the video when one of your kids want to move or take Pleo... at the end of the video!:) The score is amazing, like a movie score!

I broke the news to my daughter this evening....This Pleo video beat out her Christmas Pleo video for most views on my YT site. She took it very well and thought that was really neat :D Over 3,800 views. One the suggestion of friends, I sent a link to both Sea World and Ellen Degeneres. Ellen often does segments with YT videos, especially animal ones.

Yeah, Great Video! I found it while looking for video info on poor "Sharky's" death collusion that I heard happened over the weekend. =( SO SAD!! I'm SUCH a fan of both Dolphins and Pleo. Been in love w/our wet mammalian friends since I was a kid and am just in awe of their mental abilities/intelligence.

Hey, BTW, quick random question. Does your (Pixie) or anyone's Pleo have some ~slight trouble walking in a completely straight line?? I mean, I know they wander around (duh! LOL) but as in, when they INTEND to walk in a straight... e.g. mine seems to have a slight "lean/curve" to his right.... more so on Carpet (which might just be his rubber toes/paws just dragging due to him not being able to pick up his feet enough.) Oh and also... have you gotten Pleo to do his "High Step" mode accurately?? I keep wondering if I'm doing it right... touching both of his front leg sensors and pressing his little black pleo button.... see, I hold the two sensors AND THEN while still holding them, press the button... but all I seem to get is his volume to go to "mute" like normal... and then I proceed to press his pleo button yet again just so I can hear him react....sigh. ANYWAY! Thanks for the help!!!

Oh and how did you find out about that Royalty Free music you used for it... I checked that guys site out and downloaded those tunes... really nice stuff for FREE! It all reminded me of this great game I played endlessly the summer of my Sr yr in High School -on the Sega Dreamcast it's called: "ECCO The Dolphin: defender of the future" an AMAZING remake of several awesome, classic Sega Genesis games of the same main title. haha T.I.M. I know... lol but anyway!

I don't really notice if they walk in a straight line or not. I think for short distances they have. But never really noticed one way or the other. And yeah, I've gotten them to do the high step, it takes a few tries.

One of my friends who makes music videos and video games sent me the link. And yes, it reminded me of Ecco the Dolphin. Also of Casper's Lullaby from the movie Casper. The first song, Atlantean Twilight has a wonderful music box sound to it. I love that site too. The fact the music is free is all the better. :) Though some of the songs, I wish they were longer.

She said she was glad the trainers were helpful and we had fun and she would be sure to forward the email to the Animal Care Depertment so the trainers can see it :D :D
