I'm not sure I understand your question.
You can use the usb cord OR the sd card to download updates.
Or you can use the sd card with skit programs on it.
What are you trying to do???

If you are talking about doing UGOBE downloads via the USB then you have to first install the Updater Utility (http://www.pleoworld.com/downloads/updates) to your computer.
