I went thru the whole process which said 100% complete. After restarting pleo was pretty lazy and didnt do much. I took his full Battery out and the bottom negative battery's yello covering had partially burned awat from the battery.
You could barely hole the battery pack it was soooo HOT!
It actually melted the bottom plastic plate that has the holes cut out and not the neg lead hole is a C shape.
Now it will not sit on the charger properly and if I insert the battery in Pleo he does nothing.
No sound NO movement.

The thing that stinks is even though Pleo didnt have too many hours since X-mas I had none of the reported problems with tha battery or charger. I was always able to get a good solid chareg that would last an hour or so or use.
The only problem my Pleo was subject too was the white paint chipping. I had ordered the enamel pen but not touched him up yet.
I hope this in only a Battery issue and that Pleo is OK. As long as CS replaces the Battery or if that doesnt work the Pleo I will remian happy.
This last update I was so excited to try. Maybe coincidence but it appears the update messed something up.
For the record I did the USB update not the SD card version.
Hope they take care of me.
I probably only have 10 hours on the pleo total!

I contacted Customer Service today. They first seemed a bit shocked at the level of damage the overheated battery did to itself.
The also notified me that there is only a 90 day warranty and I am just passed that.
I guess the case was generated and passed to a supervisor. Hope this means good things.
The told be they think either the battery or charger may be defective but interesting I have never had a charge issue until I did the update via USB.
I think the battery got current from the USB cable and fried. But thats IMO.
I hope that UGOBE sees this as more then just an unhappy customer incident and one of much greater importance.
The PLEO could have been in my daughters lap when this battery was heating up and I mean it was HOT!
Again it melted the base plate to the point that one of the circles is now a C shape and all of the yellow coating covering the negative lead has shrunk to nothing due to the high heat.
I hope PLEO is ok. Now way to tell till I get a good battery to him.
Lets hope UGOBE does the right thing hear for the customer ME but also a possibly a recall of the series reported units that this has happened to.
This could have actually started a fire.

I received a new batt today and they sent me a patch file and asked me to re-download the new OS.
Gonna try it tonight.

Contacted Pleo Customer support and Rafael was very kind. There was a question if Pleo was still in warranty (he was not!) but after sending pics of the melted battery they send me a new one rather quickly along with an RMA for the old batt.
The inside of Pleo's white batt box actual warped ever so slightly so when I put the New batt in nothing happened and I thought PLEO was really dead.
I pulled up on the springs just a tiny bit, re-inserted battery and PLEO WAS ALIVE!
Everything seems good so far (about 3 days)
This battery def seems to last much longer and running the 1.1 OS now is big improvement.
PLEO just seems smarter in general.
Ill keep you all posted if something happens. Good or Bad!

That's great to hear! I'm glad to see you back up and running, and to hear Ugobe responding to problems above and beyond their legal requirements. :)

Gards_72,
The usual amount of play you usually will get out of a full charge is a continuous hour to an hour and a half.
If you turn the Pleo off after half an hour to an hour and and let the battery cool you will get a little more play time. I have had two hours on a charge. But it will depend what the Pleo is doing.

Actually, I let Olly explore and she usually gets off with two hours.
