This summer, expect to see videos and pictures of Crusoe and Pixie visiting the following places:

Epcot...great place for a robot to visit! Epcot is all about innovation and inventions! I am sure our Pleos will have a great time and be a great hit!
Disney's Animal Kingdom...They have a whole dinosaur land there. I bet our Pleos will enjoy it as much as they enjoyed Jurassic Park!
Disney Hollywood Studios (Formally MGM Studios)...Just because. LOL
Sea World....Unless we plan to sit in the nose bleed seat, our Pleos will not be attending the dolphin and whale shows, to be sure they don't get soaked.
Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure (again)....Just because.

And maybe a zoo or two.

Yeah, we need to get away. Other than the Universal trips we take (which is one day), we barely take vacations. Maybe 1 every 5 years. This year we are gonna get out and have some fun. And go in debt in the process. Yeah debt!

Actually, yeah Uncle Sam for the upcoming checks we are all receiving. We shall help our economy by going to theme parks :D

LOL....Nah...none at all! I will deffinetly video tape it! I hear he's not there EVERYDAY...but being we are going in top tourist season, on a weekend, Disney would be stupid not to have him out. I will call a few days before to guest relations too, to see if he will be there and see if they can give me a scoop on when/where to be to see him.

Bad news all... :(

I was reading more about Lucky. He was in Orlando for 2005 only. He then went to Hong Kon and will eventually be a regular attraction of Disneyland California. So you Cali people....bring Pleo there when Lucky is rehomed. :P

In my search...I found this..."You can have your own Lucky the Dinosaur" from a Disney blog and its all about PLEO!

I went to Sea World yesterday, without Pleo. Since I had family down. Tomorrow we are going again and this time I am bringing Pleo and here is why.

Yesterday in the underwater viewing area for the bottlenosed dolphins, two trainers came in with a shower curtain. The shower curtain had a dolphin scene on it. They help the curtain against the glass and then we all watched the fun. ALL the dolphins came to look at it. They were totally into looking at this scene of dolphins like them and followed it everywhere. The trainers said it was the first time they brought it out and they are always trying to think of things to bring to work to show them and see the reactions. It helps to stimulate their brains. As fantastic a park as Sea World is, its still not the ocean and never will be. So they need to find new and exciting things for the dolphins to play with and/or think about.

As I watched all of this, I couldn't help but think about Pleo. I know dolphins have shown a lot of positive reactions to assistance dogs that come into the parks with blind, deaf, paralyzed, epileptic, etc. So what might they think of a dinosaur that blinks and moves? And as thick as that glass is, they can hear. So they may just as well hear Pleo talk. So tomorrow (hopefully the crowds will be a bit smaller), I am bringing Pleo and of course, videotape the whole experience. Maybe Sea World will add a Pleo to their roster :)

Also, for those that visit Sea World and similar parks that have underwater viewing. Bring something with you! Seriously. It could be a bottle cap, a small mirror, a bouncy ball, a large colorful feather...anything bright, shiny, and/or something they likely don't see at the parks. Don't bother to use the stuff you can buy at the parks, like plushie dolphins, they are so over those, lol. But just mundane things they may not have seen before. Toss it in the air and catch it and if its small and makes a noise when you tap it on the glass, tap it lightly so they can hear it. I used a red bottle cap from my Coke bottle and they were interested in that. Mirrors are a big hit too. And Sea World allows you to do this. And think its great that visitors are stimulating them too. It also brings them close for great pictures.

I did not video tape this, but this is the underwater viewing of dolphins at Sea World Orlando. They didn't make bubble rings yesterday, but maybe they will when they see Pleo

When we went to Orlando a few years ago, we ended up going to Disney World for one day, but went to Sea World three days. The kids had more fun at sea world than waiting all day in lines at Disneyworld. :p

I'm on break right now from work, so I have a minute to tell you guys about it.

Because it was SeaWorld, a park of water, I didn't take Pleo out as much as I usually do. I was being a very protective mommy. As much as I wanted her to watch the shows, I didn't want to risk she getting wet for any reason. So I only took her out when I felt it was safe. But the little I did get of her out there is amazing. The first time I went in the underwater viewing with the dolphins, they ignored Pleo. I began to think that they would pay attention if I had a trainer with me. So I went and found one. I wasn't sure if they would help me out. Here is this weird lady with some robot dinosaur asking for a special escort to see the dolphins. But I wanted to try. I got everyone here excited and I didn't want to disappoint you all. To my surprise, she agreed, loved Pleo and got three more trainers to go with us.
We get into the room with the windows and I never felt so embarrassed in my life.
One of the trainers yells to the crowd, "I need everyone to take a few steps back! We are doing an interaction experiment and I need you all to give us some room!" and then they surrounded us in a semi circle. I put Pleo down and the trainer slapped the window to call them over and then made a gesture to point down at Pleo. Once one notice, she blew the whistle to let it know it did what she asked and then the fun began. At one point we had 8 dolphins checking it out. Pushing eachother out of the way. This went on for about 5-10 minutes and we were having a blast. Finally it was time to go and I picked Pleo up. One of the dolphins who was really interested in it (at this point all the others had left), followed Pleo as I picked her up. I held her and Pleo opened her mouth at the dolphin and the dolphin opened his mouth too. He almost seemed sad when we left. The trainers want to get a Pleo for Sea World now. :D

The other viewing areas, sea lions, orca wasn't as exciting, but still fun.

And moray eels do NOT like Pleo. Not one bit! I got video of that.
The coral reef tank with reef fish like you saw on Finding Nemo were actually interested in Pleo. It was weird. They were the last animals I would figure would be curious.

The video will be up tonight. As soon as I get home from work, I have to get it off the camera, edit it, and upload it to YT.

Sephy got to meet Siren, Crusoe and Pixie. We had a blast. This was the first time Sephy really played out in the sunshine and boy was she active. The 3 started singing to each other. It was really cute and of course immediately brought a crowd. Of course they drew attention even before they started moving. When ever we stopped and sat them down we were surrounded. Note to self - next time have something to hand out with Pleoworld address at least on it.

We got to the dolphins and only one would play with them. It was feeding time and they thought fish sounded a lot better than dinosaur. But it was still worth it. Siren took some video and I took pictures. Once I get home I'll downsize some photos so I can post the three of them together. We took advantage of the scenic photo op sites for the three to pose. In one spot a family waited in line to take a picture with them. When we started to pick them up to leave they were disappointed so we put them back down so the kids could get their picture taken. All in all it was great fun.

And in case you don't see my other post. Sephy went through security today with no problems and is flying home to New Jersey first class.
