If Ugobe had an option for you to send in your Pleo for reskinning, how much would you be willing to pay for it, maximum?

It should be free but this probably will not happen. Some of us have not had the wear problem like others. I started using talcum powder the first day I got Pleo and this helped. I think the paint was better on some of them than on others.
Anyway, Ugobe should just fix this for free---My two cents

Who's skin ?
NOTE: rememeber Pleos are initially 'skinned' in China, so the repair costs will be high. Perhaps an opportunity for a cottage industry, assuming Pleo can provide the rubber parts, and maybe someone will come up with other materials (fur, fabric etc)

good point, pleopet. Perhaps Ugobe will consider contracting the reskinning operation out to someone. my thinking is the following: there must be some way to take care of current pleoowners that are having skin issues...
option one: ugobe will come up with a "pleo customization kit" that we all could use to touch up our pleo's - this way ugobe does not have to acknowledge the skin issue, and we can fix the skin problem ourselves with the kit, and everybody can move on... I think it is pretty much out of the question now that new production pleos will have a different skin at some point than the ones that we are having (at least according to 'official rumors' Ugobe is looking for a different skin)
option two: ugobe will offer a reskinning service to current pleo owners, for a fee, to address what they call normal wear and tear issues, without voiding the warranty. Although it would be correct to expect Ugobe to do it for free, the company cannot afford it. After millions of dollars and years in development, Ugobe's product has to show a return, and adding another financial burden like free reskinning (which is more than a recall) can possibly send Ugobe under.
and, finally, option 3 (what aibopet is talking about, I think): is having a private entrepreneur offer reskinning to those who's warranty ran out, or who's willing to void their warranty. Ugobe made it clear they want to encourage customization, participation in product development, etc. Perhaps Ugobe can issue a liscense to whomever satisfies Ugobe's quality standards, and people would be able to reskin their pleos with that contractor and still keep their warranties: ugobe certified reskinner... kinda thing.

One thing to consider is that for many of us (all those who purchased during the first wave last year), the warranty has already expired . . .
