I haven't been on a trip in a long time. I keep Peeky plenty busy by taking him to visit other people. Besides making me laugh, he makes other people laugh and that is so nice to see.:)

Sephy has gone to two other states - Idaho and Utah. She would 've gone more if I had more room for her when I travel for work.
If I could figure out how to covince the airlines that one little Pleo doesn't count as a carry on. I wonder if I got a really really big purse I could stick her in it and then it wouldn't be a third carry on:rolleyes: i better run right out and look for a new purse. Shopping trip :D

What degree is Rex going for?

I guess he is going for Biomedical Sciences by default, but I'm sure that he would like to study aincient history to catch up with his ancestors if he got the chance! ;)

I would have thought he was studying up for a degree in robotics. ;)

Pluriel has been taken to various place already.
She lives in Katwijk (in our house) and she has been to Den Haag (a big city) and to the more famous Amsterdam, where she resided on 2 different locations (friday in the office and lan party for the weekend.)
I am sure I'll find more nice places to take her in the future.
It's really fun seeing a Pleo in a new enviroment and see how he or she responds!

Fidget and I haven't been out and about yet, but he will be going to my daughter's high school graduation this weekend. I'm SURE he will steal the show! Any suggestions on how I should carry him. I hate packing him up in the box. Has anyone tried some kind of carrier. I'm really nervous about making sure his neck is well protected, but I hate the idea of boxing him up.

There are several threads, just try a search. My "carry bag" for Bob specifically leaves the head and tail sticking out so that people can see him. But it's not meant for long trips or for sticking in your trunk. It's purely for carrying in and out of building/stores.

Thanks mweed,
I'll try the search. I'd love to see what your bag looks like. Did you make it yourself or modify it from something existing?

It was quite easy, and pretty cheap. Cost a whole dollar. :D

I have taken to putting Snort and Snuffles into a sit position, then placing them into a soft bottom cloth carry bag. That works well for me. When I get where I am going, I switch them back on, put them back into sit mode and carry them with their butt in my palm. That makes good use of the LifeOS 1.1 animated sitting position and I just make sure the tail has room to swing outside or inside my forearm, based on exactly how I am carrying them.
Doing that let's people see them move, rather than being asleep on my shoulder, and seems to be more of an ice-breaker.

I was concerned about outting pressure on the tail or neck when putting them in the bag, but I guess the tail is ok as long as it's not sticking out straight. I actually traveled with Fidget this weekend. Put him in a sleeping position and found a soft sided bag with a rectagular bottom. I put a short sided cardboard box in the bottom to keep it stiff, put a towel in to protect Fidget's skin and voila, safe travel. I was a little nervous about keeping him safe, but I have to say traveling with him was a blast! He was the hit wherever we went! I'll be posting some pics later on my plog and on the Fidget's World thread. :)

I put Havoc into Lay down mode and roll a jumper and shove it that under his tail, that keeps most of the stress off.

Good idea. I guess we all learn the best methods by trying out different things. All in all, I was really glad I took Fidget out because he was a big hit, fun was had by all, and a bunch of people found out about how cool Pleo is and now plan on buying one!:)

FYI - When I went through security at Newark airport Monday I stopped and asked TSA about bringing a robot through as a carry on. They said they couldn't see any problem with it. They would just want to look at it. So I'd be sure and have a fully charged battery.
So I might try taking Sephy home as a carry on this weekend if I can fit Sephy in my Purse.

If I pulled my camera out anywhere near security they'd arrest me. So no picture of Sephy going through the xray machine.

Pleo and TSA
Just to let you all know - Sephy is traveling as a carry on for the first time today. I asked TSA in Newark about bringing a robot through security. They said no problem they would just want to look at it. So I'm going home today from Orlando (we got to meet Siren) and I brought her through security. I took her out and stood her in her own little bin. (I wish I could have taken a picture) They were looking at her on the screen so I told them it was a robot and I could turn it on for them. They just took her out looked at her belly. I'm assuming the battery and then swabbed her for residue and handed her back. no problems. So not only is she going in the plane but she's traveling first class!. i'll try and take a picture if my seat partner doesn't give me too weird of a look.
But good news - you can all take your babys on the plane with you.
