Hi,
After being on the Apple.com forums last week i noticed the following happens here.
POST JACKING
Post jacking is when someone asks a question & another topic pops up in the reply & move's the discussion onto that.
Apple does not allow this on their forms (they move the topic to a new post)
Maybe Ugobe should follow Apple & bring this rule in.

In some cases we do move a post and sometimes we move an entire thread. As the community starts to get bigger and busier we will probably do even more of this. But right now our community members are a pretty close knit group so we don't get too picky about "off topic" posts or threads.

This is the first forum that I have been on. I know I have been guilty of doing this just because of not knowing how to use the threads. I'm not sure if there is a thread to show new people how to get around, but it might be a nice if there's a place to go to learn the best way of locating threads.:)

Most threads seem to move off topic as what I would call more of a topic evolution than intentionally moving off topic . . . But very few seem to stay on topic :p

I like some off topic -ness, it makes the pleoworld community a bit more fun:)

A great example of this off-topic wandering is the current LifeOS 1.0.2 thread. the last five or six posts have been about dino-breath. Who would have guessed that a goofy comment would completely take over the thread?
