I had plogged about rehabbed Linus's neck pop (clutch popped). It was very loud and it happened with his head pushing into coffee table. Unlike the original injury which caused Linus's neck to be permanently down, this new POP/CRUNCH only happens when he moves his head to the right at a certain height. And the sound since the really loud noise is more like grinding. I only hear it occasionally now.

Schroeder has only been playing for about 4 battery charges. This morning when I woke him up, his right back knee did a very loud POP/CRUNCH which scared me  , but he did move his knee just fine afterwards. Within two minutes, his neck also replicated Linus's noise. All he was doing was waking up. He seems okay but these loud sounds are very disconcerting.

I never heard a sound when Linus originally hurt his neck and had to be returned. I don't know if new Linus and Schroeder are from a different manufacturing run (or whatever you call it), but I wanted to identify it as a scary thing to me as an owner. Am going to ignore all loud sounds for now unless something impairs the functioning.

Heads up for Ugobe.

this is terrible!! for all you've been through with pleo problems you dont deserve this:mad:!!! this should have been checked before they sent you Linus back! maybe it was checked.. but doesn't seem to be! also wondering if it was checked when they sent Schroeder to you!!

I've had occasional knee popping. Always the back right. But it goes away and pleo seems to be fine.

Interesting that it seems to be primarily the right side!

interesting, my new pleo (hatched this morning) also had his *right back* knee popping. Didin't seem to bother him, and it worked fine afterwards, but quite a loud noise. And the same knee joint that has been reported here...

Maggie4n, what OS version have you been running when the POP/CRUNCH thing started happening?

I am wandering if there's a connection with the OS version... cuz the software controls the hardware...

Bob's knee problems were with the original OS

Bob's knee problems were with the original OS

Then mine must have the original. Is there another version out? Wouldn't that have been included with the recent download/upgrade? Both of mine are popping and crunching very loudly. Schroeder mostly when he first wakes up. Linus's neck crunches when he is moving things around.

As long as they are moving fine, it's ok. As most have said, it sounds scary

If the neck is popping when he's trying to move things with his head, then it may be good. it's protecting the gears from stripping under pressure. :)
