Hi!
I'm interested by Pleo to use it for some lab research.
I'm already using the URBI language (www.gostai.com) with an aibo for my researchs.
This one is really simple and moreover easy to use and interact with my C++ computer applications (which are actually my research work).
I had a quick look about PAWN and i didn't see how i can interact with it through C++ applications. Is it possible?
As URBI is designed for any kind of robots, is it possible to get a server for Pleo too?
Thanks!

If you have a wireless/wired connection between the Pleo and your PC, you can remote control the robot using almost any programming language (running on the PC). There are simple command line features in the firmware, but a simple Pawn program can handle the robot interactions.
re: URBI
The bottleneck is the URBI/gostai folks. The URBI engine is closed source so they need to do the work to port it to any new robot platform (apparantly based on votes)
Send them (gostai) an email and ask to add Pleo to their voting list (http://www.gostai.com/download.php ) - then get more people to vote for it. Eventually they (gostai) may consider it once the Pawn PDK is released (by UGOBE).

FYI, a Pleo voting button has just been added to the page in question:

A small update on this item. We did some research on the URBI architecture, and currently the server, or URBI Engine, would not fit into the Pleo firmware. What is possible is a similar architecture to what they used for the Lego Mindstorms NXT, where the server runs on the host, sending commands directly to the NXT over USB or Bluetooth. We ought to be able to do the same over the Pleo USB port. We will try to keep you updated on any progress made.
Also, I notice that we can no longer vote for Pleo on their site. :-(
Thank you,
Tyler
