You aren't alone. Those with join date etc are those who registered directly with the Community forums before the resgistration was set up on the main page. Unfortunately newer registrations are not sending the information over into the forums area.

This is a known problem and possible resolutions are being discussed now.

I uploaded an avatar and a profile picture, but it doesn't show in my posts although I can see the images in my forum profile. What am I doing wrong? It's a JPEG image, 80 x 63 pixels, only 3 KB large.

It sounds like you're doing it right but let me verify.

Go to your User CP
Edit Avatar (or Profile Picture)
Custom Avatar
Then paste in the URL of the picture you want OR
Browse and upload a picture from your computer.

If this is how you're doing it I have one theory as to why you personally are not getting the avatar to show up.

Notice that your name is black type and not clickable as a link. As opposed to mine, and most people, who have a green clickable name and ours also show number of posts, join date, etc with our names.

The registration on the main community page is fairly new. It takes some time (a few days to a week it seems) for your registration info to be transferred from that page over into the forums system. It could be that the system isn't seeing you yet and that's why it won't let you add or change to your profile.

I'm really sorry for this inconvenience but please give it a few more days and if your name hasn't changed to a link and/or if you still can't edit/add to your profile please come back here and let us know.

I had the same question so thanks for the answer and all your help on these forums. So far we are enjoying our Pleo greatly and can't wait for software upgrades to start coming along. Any idea when to expect these?

As of right now there is no firm date for the OS updates. As long as your Pleo is registered you will be notified when updates are ready. :)

Please give it another couple of days and hopefully the information will catch up on this side. If it hasn't please let us know and we'll see what we can do to fix it!

Hi InNM, there are several reasons it might not work. One is size, I believe they have to be 100x100 pixels or less, another is file format which should be jpg, jpeg, gif or png. Animated graphics will not work. If it meets all these criteria and it doesn't work, can you attach it to a post in this thread? I might be able to help. :-)

OK, I checked the size, which is 17KB. I uploaded it again because I remember having two pictures of it and not sure which I uploaded. If it doesn't show again, I will try to attach to a post.

You'll need to adust the link in your signature. the "/mypleo" points to just that. each person's own pleo page. You need to set it to point specifically to YOUR page, which is http://www.pleoworld.com/connect/view/id/5146

See the links towards the top of the screen in green. Click on the "User CP." This is your control panel for settings, preferences, etc.

Look on the left side for "Edit Avatar" and click on that.

Choose "Use Custom Avatar"

Then you can use one of the two methods offered. Either use the URL where the picture you want is located or upload the image from your computer.

Hi Aussie-Pleo,

It's not your fault nor your computer's fault. Sometimes it takes time for the registration information to make it's way over from the registration page into the Forum's system. Notice how your name is in black and not green and a clickable link. Also your join date and post count aren't showing yet.

I'll escalate the problem and hopefully our forum tech guys can get your name over into our system ASAP. When you see the changes to your name, etc you'll know you can add the avatar and signature. :D
