yes, they remind me the Fur Real's too!;) i don't like them so much, they looks cute but not liflelike really. Pleo is more cute and lifelike!

It looks adorable and realistic. Doesn't walk though is a disappointment. But I am sure my daughter would still like it. Though probably not as much as Pleo.

Pleo's face looks real, but the way the cub moves its face to make expressions and blinks its eyes are pretty much more realistic than Pleo's constant blinking. Yet, these are more of a Fur Real toys, which I hate, Pleo's cute in a way, too bad his motors whirr too much...

I think we're comparing Pleos to stuffed animals here. ;) Pleo is a technologically-advanced toy which is aimed at kids NO YOUNGER than 8 years old. Oh,and the rest of us, too. If you watch the other Youtube video of the Wowee rep showing the line of these furry toys, she clearly states that it's supposed to be a stuffed animal that is just a little more interactive than normal and it's something your child would go to sleep with (which, to me, means kids 8 and younger, in most cases). Also, it will retail for 59.95, so it's obviously not intended to give Pleo a run for his money...or ours.

LuBu, I gotta agree, though, that lion cub face was quite realistic. Having the eyes widen, then blink and then the upper lip move up and down was pretty endearing. Pleo is a cutie and I think his eyelids make him fairly expressive but except for opening and closing his mouth, that's all the movement his rubbery little face can do for now.

Yup. All pleo needs to express himself is his tail and voice. Let's hope the pDK will allow modders to do amazing things to pleo.

Has anyone seen the Ape out of the Wowee series? It's only an interactive head and quite spooky. :eek:

As for Wowees lion cub, they are also bringing out a leopard and two other animal babies just as well. But there is one thing that disturbs me way to often lately: Lions don't purr!
They don't. The biggest purring cat is the Cheetah. Lions, Tiger and Leopards don't purr.

I'll never get any of Wowees robots though, not as long as their interactivity is based on remotes or a couple simple robot movements. I will wait patiently for Ugobes next creature, which I hope will be a saber tooth kitten or something like it ;)

About a month ago I bought Wowwee’s scary Elvis Head when Amazon had it at 79$. I was hoping to give it custom sound a skits. But its not as easy as with Pleo.

I’m dreaming of a day when I can have my robotic Elvis head ride around on the robot vacuum cleaner giving orders to my Pleo and Aibo to fight to the death! :p

I love it! What a visual! I have Wowwee chimapanzee alive and that is pretty creepy too. Still haven't figured out what exactly to do with it, but I got it for about $35 on ebay so I couldn't resist!

I mean really....how can Kota seriously compete with Pleo? It has fun dinosaur sounds so the kids can imagine they are on a dinosaur adventure? With a Pleo they can GO on a dinosaur adventure. Look what I did taking Pleo to Jurassic Park at Islands of Adventure.

Personally, I like all the animatronic stuff, but to compare it wil Pleo, who is SO much more sophisticated is ridiculous. The problem is that the reviewers many times are not getting to spend enough time playing with Pleo to realize he is so much more advanced than a Furreal Pet. And while Kota looks cute, I seriously doubt there is anything there to keep the folks at Ugobe up at night worrying about the competition.
